Zion National Park is one of the most heavily traveled parks in the Grand Staircase region with over 3.5 million visitors annually. As part of a master plan to increase visitor satisfaction and safety, the park built a new interpretive visitor center. A family of porcelain enamel graphic panels and interpretive rails at the visitor center introduce the visitor to the natural and cultural history of the park. Trail panels featuring large format images and maps help hikers choose the most appropriate trail for their schedule and level of experience. Simple Q & A lift and drop interactives answer some of the most commonly asked questions and invite visitors to look more closely at the unique environment they are about to explore. The strong, direct graphic approach communicates clearly and effectively to park patrons, whether they are just passing through or are planning an extended visit. |
