FORT MCHENRY, ARCHEOLOGY EXHIBIT

The British bombardment of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the "Star Spangled Banner." 200 years later, fragments from this war and the fort's past are on display in a new exhibit highlighting artifacts from archeological digs carried out over the last several decades. From cannon ball shards to uniform buttons, bayonets to animal bones, clay pipes to medicine bottles, these fragments reveal glimpses into daily life at the fort.
Inspired by the archeologists' documentation and field notes, proun designed a system of graphic panels to complement the displays with clarity and elegance.
