Jeremiah Lee was a wealthy New England merchant in the mid-1700's and staunch Patriot during the Revolutionary War. He also owned and participated in the trade of human beings. This exhibit in the building that housed his enslaved individuals explores the complex relationship we have with our nation's founding principals.
