The Art of Courtroom Illustration
At the intersection of drawing, journalism, and law, lies the unique art form of courtroom illustration. Since the mid 30's, when photography was banned from the courtroom, talented artists have captured the emotion and drama of the courtroom through their expressive drawings. Drawing Justice is an exhibit of nearly 100 illustrations of trials that span subjects such as celebrity, corruption, murder, crime, race, and terrorism among others.
These sketches capture for posterity the chilling glare of John Gotti, the defiance of Larry Flynt, an impassive Michael Jackson, and a demonic Charles Manson.
